I got a clamshell cover from studioslips for my Budda SD18 1x12 combo. It's great!

I've been very happy with my clamshell cover. Very well made; great communication with Susan.

Is the extra padding worth it/needed? Or do you guys feel the standard padding is adequate?

I have a clam shell cover for my sd 18 combo with just the regular padding and it is just fine. I dont think the extra padding would add any benefit IMHO. There's ample padding already and the material of the cover is very heavy duty.

If my amp had little tiny switches on it ( like mesa's or something ) I may consider it.....but the budda's don't have switches that stick out like that.

I would recommend the side pocket and also the leather strips on the bottom.
