I am interested in picking up a flying V type of guitar. It will have to be a USA made model, but nothing too high as far as price. I suppose $1500 is where I'll look.

I have been eyeing the Hamer V as I love most every Hamer guitar I've played, but open to other ideas. Not particularly interested in Gibson.

What do I need to look at and what will it cost me?

    Many thanks in advance.

Check out Dean...especially the Time Capsule V...used should be around your $1500 target. I had one for a short time and it was a true rocker although almost too pretty to play. Dean probably has the best website of any guitar company...check it out, ask questions on the forum, and then play some locally.

Nothing wrong with a Gibson Flying V...I love mine!

    Good luck,

You can always go with Jackson or BC Rich' s custom shop guitars. I think for a bare bones guitar (no fancy electronics or paint) that should be around $1500. But if you really want to go for something different (pricey) try a Moser.

If you're looking for a budget option.... I got an epiphone '58 V reissue for $235 and put some good pickups in it. It's actually pretty cool - very lightweight.

    i want one of those!!!

its not your typical metal style v, but i love it. i never thought art deco and a flying v would work, but it does. i'd definetly have to get the bigsby model.

Wilcutt has an eye popping Cherry Red Hamer Vector in Korina.
    Can't beat it.
Just think how much a "historic" costs and then you know what kinda deal you're getting.

    Vees rule!!!... at any age!!
