I need a longer cable that connects the head of a combo to the speaker

I picked up a Crate Palomino 32 and I use a THD hotplate. The speaker cable from that would normally run from the head to the speaker (and slide onto the speaker connectors) is insanely short. I want to set the hotplate on top of the ampor at least on a smaller amp beside it.

Where can I find a longer one. I checked musiciansfriend.com but couldn't find anything.

I'm probably looking right at it, but I'm at a loss.

I'll delete this marr on the forum as soon as I can find it myself or someone can point me in the right direction.

With a small amout of soldering skill you can make one either from scratch or basterdize an new longer cable.Either solder the ends to the speaker (prefered) or attacked spade connectors to one end for the speaker side. Bob

They make a female to female 1/4" adapter that will allow you to connect a longer spkr cable to the "end" of the hardwired one..(ernie ball has 'em they look like a metal tube. Some people call them submarines or sex change adapters..no skills required

I do not have soldering skills. LOL, last time I did solder, it was an input jack and I burned myself. I'm a bit clumsy at times.

I was hoping to find one at Guitar Center or something that I could just go pickup and be done with it.

Just order the right cable from Redco.com or GeorgeL

I just purchased a very good 8' amp to speaker cable in 12AWG
from Redco.com
The price and quality made it an easy decision.

Maybe I need to clarify.

I need the cable that has a 1/4" jack on one end and then slides over the connectors of the speaker. Nothing on redco or georgel that I saw had that.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear before

Just call them, they custom build ANY cable you can dream up.

Go to the build your own cable section and configure the cable
the way you want it.

If they don't offer the standard speaker clips that would surprise me, but
those are very easy to find at any radio shack or custom car audio dealer.

Takes maybe a minute each to solder or crimp connect them onto the bare cable.

Yeah. I need to pick up another short stereo cable. I have a 3' one now to go from the amp to the hotplate. Funny thing is, I did have another one but didn't need it with my Carvin...so I took it back.

You might want to do a search here on the TGP for commentary on that kind of coupler before you buy it. I seem to recall that one or more of the knowledgeable techs who posts frequently had some negative things to say about the reliability of those things. Not 100% sure I'm right about that, but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks.

I made most of my posts on here from there. They gave me a severance package of 4 more bi-weekly paychecks and benefits through 3/15. I already had a couple of other potential jobs lined up...so I should bounce back quickly.

Best of luck! Sounds like you got your ducks in a row.
