1. During the first week of August 2020, we'll be upgrading the software TGP runs on to the currently available up-to-date version. The software version is a significant upgrade, so there will be some downtime as we do the work under the hood. We've got a team of professionals, including the software development company assisting the process. We've conducted substantial tests using backups of the current forum to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade. We've gone to great lengths on the design of the theme (aka 'skin' or look and feel) of the forum to offer a better user experience for members and visitors. The default theme will be new, yet clearly influenced by the classic TGP look. We will have a dark version of that also easily selectable. Also available will be a "Classic TGP" theme that closely matches the current theme you are accustomed to using with the current software. There is also an easy width adjustment to make it set width or expand to your window width for each theme. As we get closer, I'll update everyone so hopefully, no one will be caught by surprise.

that's hard to argue with. I guess I just look at it from my own perspective which suggests 3k and even 4k are still materially different than 6.

Why do people want anything? Some folks buy 2 gallons of store brand Vanilla for $6. Other prefer to spend $6 on a single pint of Ben and Jerry's. Different strokes man!

This amp is more like $9/pint ice cream, with no evidence that it tastes any different from $6/pint ice cream.
And you have to buy $6000/$9 = 666 pints just to try it...

    How is he getting that?

Wasn't he using his TR Sig and a Dumble ODS on that tour?

Yes, assuming taste in flavor or taste in tone is not subjective.

I think you answered your own question! Curiosity. I also imagine that with the amp being produced in limited numbers, they want to make certain they get to experience it in person without having to wait for a used one to show up on the market.

I agree with you. I can swing a $3k guitar or amp no problem and pay cash (or the next credit card statement in full) with no issues and not a ton of forethought/planning. I cannot, however, drop $6k, at least not without some advance planning and saving. Makes sense since we're talking 50% more.

Yea, how is he getting that? How do we know he didn't step on his Klone pedal (or a tubescreamer type pedal) when he made that solo?

His rig at that point was 2 TS-10's and a Marshall Bluesbreaker MkI.

Katana -> BB1 -> TS-10. Guitar volume and tone rolled off a little. Lots of clean volume.

So would I but I'd hide it behind some draperies so I wouldn't have to look at that ugly thang.

Ok so his set with the trio, I assume him to be using a recabbed SSS 004, with the full band he's using the JMOD. They sound VERY VERY different. I think PS was filling your ears with ******** on that one. If the SSS with the trio is not the blue one that's been recabbed, that means two things, I'm wrong and the man owns three SSS. I saw him on Monday and the tones with the trio were big, deep, and aggressive.. loved it. If it sounds just like the blue SSS and I'm wrong then it's a great deal :) lol

Probably because they were set differently, right?

LOL sure.... Although it's not impossible, the filters do have a pretty big effect. Still unlikely, the JMOD is much more glassy and compressed. The SSS has a low end that will take your head off.

here's the PRS on helpless from msg last night... solo starts at 1:45... then again 3:35... this was one of my favorite tones of the night....

here's dumble 004 on bold as love... solo starts 1:52... he kicks on another pedal at 2:22 and that's when the tone really takes off.... clearer and more aggressive at the same time....

    $8500. Mmmm . . . well
I think I would go for a 100w Reeves Space Cowboy for $2,800.

Tough to compare with a camera phone video uploaded to YouTube, but if anything, I prefer the PRS's tone. Thank you for posting, btw.

Also, on an unrelated note, why is everyone saying this amplifier is $8500? It clearly has a street price of $5,999, which, while a lot of money, isn't totally inconsistent with what Two Rock or Bludotone charge.
