Here’s another one (no longer mine, but I had it for several years) - 87 SG Elite in Pearl White. Maybe not quite as rare as the Strat, but they don’t come up all that often.

African Mahog doesn't necessarily mean Korina. How did PRS explain it? (I'm a huge Korina junky...)

Edit. Just looked it up African Mahog top and Korina back and Neck.
    Very cool.
Enjoy! Love the one off PRS Stuff. USed to have a few 80's PRS one offs.

Somebody had to buy it so I thought it might just as well be me. The tone is firm, with a throbbing bass and pulsing highs. The sound just seems to spurt from the speakers.

There should be a TGP rule that you can't bring up the Wangcaster unless you actually own one.

Traded into this, IIRC: Fleishman is the former president of the Lutheir's Guild of America, builds high dollar basses and acoustics mainly. Semi hollow with spruce rims, spalted top and birdseye back. Bartolini, active preamp, piezo saddles. Lightest guitar I've ever owned and maybe ever played:

Renaissance guitar, built in vanishingly small numbers from 78-82, active preamp, phase switch, DiMarzios. Heavy as sin, but sounds really good!

In the grand scheme of life this the coolest guitar you could ever own.....priceless!

My contribution Axis BFR in a kind of purple burst. It has .09s and basically plays itself. (I wish it knew more songs)

Here's the one guitar I own that probably qualifies as rare. It's a Maton MS2000 STD. Maton electrics are definitely not as widely used as their acoustics, and seem to be really hard to find in the US. I got this back in 2008 while traveling in Asia. When I got it back home it very badly needed a set up, mostly due to the change in climate. I also had the stock pickups replaced with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. Totally love this guitar.

Very cool! I prefer Japanese Fenders to USA ones, and I'd never heard of the "Extrad" before. What kind of prices are they asking for them? (I play a highly modified 87 MIJ "Standard" Strat.)

OK I have posted this before it is very rare and is my avatar as well. In Neal Moser's own words "This is the prototype for the 25th anniversary PMS Bich series. These were done to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Bich. Twenty five were supposed to be built however only fifteen numbered 1 through 15 were done with walnut wings plus the prototype making 16. The only other Bich done with walnut wings was the original proto from 1978 owned by Dan Lawrence, so 17 Biches were done with walnut wings and only two with the serial number PROTO, rare would be an understatement" I bought it from Neal and absolutely love owning it!

Got this one the year my daughter was born, so that makes it even more special for me. 2008 McKorina Racer One-Off. Korina neck and body, Alabaster finish w/black racing stripes, and brushed Yokohama T&B pickups. The McCarty on the trussrod is filled in with matching paint from the top, instead of gold. I do wish it had birds, but that's a minor thing when the rest of it is pretty damn cool.

I could post that same, old boring pic of my Ehlers/Burns Jumbo.... but I post it too much

So instead, here's one of my (now sold) Mel-O-Bar 9-string stand-up lap steel, built on one of the last, original Mosrite bodies.

They’re sort of like the Japanese equivalent of a CS Strat (they have nitro finishes, high end wiring, etc. etc.) and seem to show up for sale mostly on Japanese sites for around 2k USD. I got lucky and snagged mine locally for $1200... which I think was a pretty great deal for how nice the guitar is.
