I say Santa Fe has the worst drivers

Santa Fe has an almost unmatched combination of tourists, illegal immigrants who never drove before they came to the states, really old people, and rural drivers, along with a snake's nest of streets that are actually converted Indian trails, plus an ethic that says Stop signs are optional if there's nobody coming from the right angle streets...I've been here for several years now, and never experienced anything like it. My wife and I have agreed that if we're in an accident, nobody gets blamed, because it's inevitable. And we came here from LA...

I say Santa Fe is the worst.

Oh: We have one street, Paseo Peralta, which is U-shaped. Must be two miles long, and you can stand at one end of it and look down St Frances Drive and almost see the other end of it, a few blocks away. Don't see that everywhere.

It's a tough place to drive for sure.

I am still adjusting to the 'driving' in Denver, after almost 20 years in LA. All cars here appear to be invisible to locals.

    you need to visit boston,

in preparation for driving in boston, go to new York city and drive there first,

after you drive in boston, you are prepared and can consider the next step, driving in these cities: London, rome, and Tokyo, there are others, peking comes to mind, but santa fe is easy by comparison

Maybe these are distracting all the drivers?

Providence scares me. Driving-wise, it's the SE Asia of America

I grew up in and started driving in Toronto in the early 70s. Anyone who was raised in a major metropolitan center will name their hometown as the worst on the road...as do I.

Yeah, I'll see your Sante Fe and raise you a Naples, FL.

Daily fatalities. I have seen more death and destruction on the roads (in town and on the interstates) since I moved here 2 years ago than I have seen in my entire 62 year old life.

Had not lived here for more than a few months and I got rear ended, needed a chiropractor for months. Saw a dump truck T-Bone a 90 year old lady, it was his fault, she was turning into her community, he was going way too fast and ran a red light. Sitting at an outdoor restaurant, saw a guy rear end a car at a red light, never even hit his brakes. Totally demolished both cars.

It not just the geriatric snowbirds, it's the kids and their parents on their phones. I fear for my life every time I have to drive somewhere.

Tucson, AZ sucks too. Hardly anyone uses turn signals, ever. Driving well below the speed limit in the left lane is ubiquitous. To top it all off, decades of deferred infrastructure maintenance is all happening at once. It's not "too little too late", it's "much too much, way too late". One can't get anywhere without encountering roadwork delays, and areas not being worked on are super-congested, because everyone is seeking detours. Driving here is a ****ing nightmare.

Visit Chicago and Detroit. Then let's talk. It will require several adult beverages.

Yep. Anyone who isn't a tourist, illegal immigrant who never drove before they came to the states, or really old are all perfect drivers.
