I recently obtained a PRS SC245 in a trade and, played acoustically, it sounds amazing - very resonant, loud and full, the top end rings. The stock pickups (245's in this case) sound great for rock but they seem a bit limited otherwise. These pickups are a slightly hot PAF inspired pickup with a pronounced midrange. The neck pickup measures about the same impedance as the bridge pickup making it hotter in balance with the bridge pickup than usual. Both pickups sound great - they're just not as well rounded as I'd like.
My favorite PAF's by far are the Seymour Duncan Seth Lover's and I'm thinking I may need to throw a set in this guitar. They seem to cover a lot more ground. I have a 4-conductor set with a coil tap in another PRS and they're a perfect match for the guitar. They won't be quite as aggressive for rock tones but they certainly do the trick for old school rock - and I'm getting kind of old.
