So I'm not really a Strat guy but everyone needs one right? I sold a bunch of them over the last few years but had a hankering for a basic plain Jane one again. I found this 1995 MIM Std. today for $150 w/ upgraded fender locking tuners, replaced pick guard and roller string tree. He also gave me the original stuff also. Couldn't pass it up. It shined up real purdy methinks. I actually really liked the ceramics in my '94 that I owned until a couple of years ago so I think this will stay as is. Originally I was set on painting it Olympic white, but the black is growing on me surprisingly. Love me a bargain!

You sold a bunch of Strats to fund $150?

Your lack of detail has piqued my curiosity ... which will eventually kill a cat.

Good for you, nice guit for the money.

I dig the big ol’ ceramics in my MIM Strat, no plans to change them out.

    Congrats!

If you're not a strat fan, why did you buy a bunch of them in the first place ... that you then sold off?

Yard sale a few years ago I bought an abused black MIM strat for $45. Turned out the lightest strat evah! Put in 57/62 set and then my nephew got it. Sometimes I wanna ask for it back.

Reminds me of David Gilmour's black Strat.

yes, I guess I wasn’t clear. I’ve owned Strats since 1974. I’ve never bonded with them, but I do like the way they sound. Figured I would give it a try again.

Cool. Enjoy! Looks like a fine guitar. My gigging axe is usually a $150 Strat as well.

Perhaps the OP had other expenses to deal with and that's where the money went. But yes, his lack of details does make one curious.

OP, nice Strat. Looks cool. Enjoy it.

I like black pickguards and white knobs and pickup covers as you can see in my avatar. The black body looks real classy.

He sold all his Strats and bought a Strat. A cheap Strat. He doesn't even like Strats. My question to the OP is, "when the caretakers from the state hospital finally catch up to you, will they let you keep the Strat?"

Ceramic p'ups can be cool in a Strat. They add some fatness to the twang. It's like putting Greenbacks into a Fender amp.

People's reading comprehension varies I guess, as I fully understood the OPs post and did not think he's sold all his strats in order to buy a $150 one...
