That's totally reasonable... I have 3 dirt pedals on my board and that is only because I don't have the space for more. Nothing is worse than going to a show and hearing the same dirt pedal the whole time. Variety is the spice of life.

I was expecting a whole lot more from the thread title! I have dirt 3 pedals on my board right now, but about a dozen or so other in a closet that I rarely use. I should probably flip them but I like all of them so I haven't so far.

If it works for you then it's just right!

If it's not working for you then it depends how you are using it!

FWIW I've got the following dirt on my board

    1. TC Nova drive - really 2 pedals in one OD and Distortion
    2. Blackstar LT-Metal
    3. Xotic SL Drive
    4. Wampler Leviathan Fuzz (not right now, but after a rewire it will be back on I think)

I've also got a EP Boost and which can be used for dirt too when stacking into gain pedals.

I never run more than dirt 2 pedals simulatenously tho, as the knob tweaking to adjust defeats the point of my EFX board!

Mostly I'll only stack the following

SL Drive | LT-Metal -> TC Nova - the Mix control on the OD gives huge options here!
EP Boost -> SL Drive -> CAE MC401 Boost (gain + volume for solos)
EP Boost -> SL Drive -> CAE MC401 Boost (gain + volume for 'heavy' bits)

I'm going to have a play about before next rewire as I'm interesting in trying out the Nova drive before my other dirt pedals, but suspect i'll lose to much flexibility that way.

I've also be GASSING heavily for a Bogner Burnley, which I played recently and found just great. I'm not sure what it would replace, it might just become another option!

I have waaaayyyyyyy more dirt than that on my board. Actually, I have five dirt pedals on my board AND I have three dirt channels on my amp.

How can you have too much if you still have room?

maybe too many Klon clones...lol...not too much dirt.

I have a light OD (Bondi Sick As), medium (Barber GC), high (Weehbo JVM), muff (Blackout Musket) and boost (Catalinbread). Still would love one more for even more variety (like gritty fuzz or even dumbleish)

All depends on how you're using it. ONE pedal can be way too much dirt if you don't know what you're doing.

Not at all. Maybe not enough flavour with 2 klones and a ts derivitive, but not too much at all.

I for one have 4 including the 2 boosts

I have 6 on my board excluding the TC Spark Booster (used as a clean/volume boost only) so I personally don't think you have too much. :)
