They used that designation for several models. I had one that was like an LP Studio with no binding, bolt-on neck, and the pickup covers had oval openings to expose the bobbins. Flimsy neck, killer pickups. I still use the pickups. ;)

I had an Ibanez LP copy, (bought new) in the early 70's which appeared based on a humbucker LP Custom Black Beauty.... Gold hardware but no pickup covers.... Set neck. It looked very cool, played and sounded fine. Not too heavy either.

Could only afford one guitar at a time back then and it was a nice guitar. Swopped it for a new Musicman Sabre 2 on rather a whim. No particular reason, just fancied a change.

I didn't have that exact model, but I had a 77 Ibanez Les Paul Custom copy. It was an excellent guitar with some of the best sustain ever.
