I've been waiting forever for someone to do this. Joe Bonamassa's Category 5 JB100 plexi has a "mid boost" built right in and from then on I thought that is was a brilliant idea. I'd love to see more amp builders implimenting something like this into their amps. Blows my mind how Fender hasn't done it yet, being that a Fender amp + Tubescreamer is one of the all time classic setups. On a side note, didn't the Marshall Jubilees essential have a solid state clipping diode overdrive and people dogged it? Must be why they are so damn plentiful and cheap on the used market...

Yeah uh, I was just wondering why the hell no one ever did this yesterday. I even asked an engineering pal and he said it might have something to do with noise but didn't really know either. It's certainly a lot easier to throw a Marshall-in-a-box and a Blues Driver into an amp and have that be a really versatile setup when you use one or both with its clean channel than it is to keep trying to voice preamps to sound like multiple amps at once, right? I feel like instead of trying to make an amp actually sound like a Fender on clean and a Marshall on crunch, it seems simpler to just make it a clean Fender with an onboard Marshally kind of drive as a makeshift second channel.

Also, the Princeton Recording Amp does exactly this, with a Tubescreamer-type pedal (and a compressor). People seem to like it. Don't know why it didn't catch on. Or the PRA in general, given its wide range of features.

Fargen JW40 is a Fender-like Blackface circuit with an Analogman King of Tone (I do believe) built-into the amp!

I never understood why this hasn't been done before either especially when you havethis type of situation where both the pedal and amp are from the same parent company.

That actually does look pretty cool. Did anybody happen to catch MSRP? I didn't see it.

It has been done, at least, in concept.
There was an amp company (Rhino??) using the Malmsteen booster built into the front. I think they even had YJM endorsement. Somebody probably knows.

Most 2 channel SS amps operate with a SS OD section, of course. They just don't always pick a good one. Putting a TS circuit in is pretty easy in the design stage.
