Ibanez FZ7 fuzz - way over the top

Having owned a bunch of traditional fuzzes - '69, Prescription, London Fuzz (Ge), etc. - this one, except at it's very lowest setting on the "0 Damage" setting is pretty un-musical and over the top.

interesting design, but calling it a "Fuzz" is probably the wrong name. The "Damage" % setting (0, 50, 100%) is an appropriate name.

Pretty useless musical pedal, interesting for just way over the top effects.

Reminds me of the Zoom brown Fuzz, which had some usable, but mostly out of control noise sounds.

I have one- its really a tone sucker and really is pretty useless other than the damage/ratted out speaker option...just my two cents. I always found I had to use an EQ with this to make it more useful...

I just heard some pretty good clips of this fuzz, maybe it can be dialed in?

Zoom brown fuzz? Was that the name of it? I know they had one that was supposed to be very similar to the fuzz factory.

I have one and I agree-the lowest setting is really the only usable one except for the cutting out sounds. EH makes one that does that too that has a knob to control the amount-can't remember the name. It's a cool studio pedal for that effect but no way it's going on my board.:bong

This pedal is amazing for that :bong rock Dead Meadow thing!

Is now on the top of my WTB list after borrowing it a short time from my buddy and blasting it through the JCM 800. The damage/gate thing is awesome, can even get you some NIN tones.

That's funny, I think it sounds killer in certain YouTube clips. It sounds kind of super fuzz-esque IMO, and it certainly does that great octave fuzz power chord sound, which I happen to like. It's a shame the 7 series pedals are so ugly though....

It is a way over the top fuzz. I will have mine for sale in the emporium, once I can get signed up here again.

It's not bad, but it sounds a little more like a distortion than a fuzz. I never set the drive past noon.
