    Hey all,

I have a 90's RG550 that I'd like to bring back into playing shape.

The Floyd Rose is pretty much ruined so I need a new one.

Any ideas where can I get the right one for the guitar? This is the old style Ibanez licensed FR, not the newer low profile ones.

    Thanks!

ibanezrules.com might have some stuff. If not the owner is a helpful guy.

    Jemsite.com - Lots of info

    or ebay

Just type Ibanez Edge Tremolo on Ebay and you will find a few, just make sure it is the right one, but i think that is the one...

Thanks, I'm trying to avoid evil-bay as much as possible and go through a more "trusted" source. I did some research before and there seemed to be a few different ones with different width, depending on the year/model.

Rich at www.ibanezrules.com has what you need. He also tweaks
the trems and it does make a difference. Nice guy also

I believe that the regular Floyd's fit the routes of these.

    Not nicely but workable.
You should have no particular problem getting a replacement Edge trem though.
Have you tried disassembling it and soaking it in a pot of paraffin .
Then clean up and rebuild with all new screws and blocks, your may be surprised as to how well this works.:dude

The intonation screw holes are stripped to the point where the screws are just spinning and not catching at all so I guess the whole block needs replacing.

Seems like Ibanezrules has what I need so I'll contact them.

    Thanks all!

I have had a lot of luck by posting a "looking for" ad on craigslist. I've found quite a few parts that way.
