I am the knight templar of tone now, I am in search of my Holy Grail of crunch and I know exactly what it is ..... this is absolute priority, a matter of my personal tone security. To my ears that is exactly the sound I am after. Dont be lazy, take the entire 5 munitues to listen to it. The demo shows the entire range of the crunch it can do, the real metal is during the last minute of course with the drive maxed. It has the gain and sustain of the distortion pedal with thickness and clarity of an overdrive - something that I have been trying to nail for over a year now, this is it. I've listened to the clip 4 times again just now with my morning coffy, I absolutely love this.

Some great playing! I have three of these, so I am probably a little biased. A friend of mine, Mercyfulfate turned me on to them a few years ago. You are right in that they have a wide range of drive/dirt to them and sound good. Of note, Analogman will do his Super mod on the SM9.

It's actually more like THREE TS-9s stacked. Before these got super expensive, in high school, I used a tasty combo of a TS9, SD9 and SM9 for all my gain tones. Beautiful.

Thanks again man, must have been tired when I looked at it yesterday, was on that page. But you know what, its perfect just the way it sounds in the youtube clip, I think that is the sound that I want. I play a HSS strat with Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge through moded TS9 into a six knob Laney AOR into a Marshal 4X12. I think this pedal give me precisley the tone I am looking for with my TS9 becoming my lead boost. I really want this pedal. I think its gonna gel perfectly with my set up. Is it less noisy then TS's? Grooveking, did you check my pm to you? THanks again dude.

I had one of those way back when. As I remember it, it did kick a good amount of ass.

That's me! I was in a spot of financial trouble, so I was going to sell it, but it's over now:) I would still consider selling or trading it for the right price or piece of gear. See it here.

My SM-9 is still for sale. They've been going for over $200 on ebay recently. How's $180? I am a long-time member of Guitargeek.com, if you need references.
