Thats a DC59, no? I just bought a '58 Silvertone U2 from a buddy. These guitars are fantastic. It must be the old masonite ;)

Looks like the real deal, 1959 DC but a bit of an unusual one. Is that black binding? If so I think you've got a real rarity there.

Most of the DCs were painted with the usual "tape" binding around the sides. You see some convertibles with a natural top and bound edge but it's pretty uncommon. This is the first DC I've seen like that.

Model #5025 Short Horn Standard. Same guitar as the "Page" model but in Blonde rather than Black. It would not be accurate calling it a "Jimmy Page" model based just on that fact. Serial # dates it to the 50th week of 1962. Also, looks like the nut has been replaced. Cool guitar!

hey- the brown edge that appears as binding is actually - brown Masonite thats smoothed and polished -

"black & white" ala- Jimmy Page color scheme is a turn off for me personally -
I was so shocked to find a Blondie! much better for me.

Funny how in one week I scored two Jimmy Page-esk guitars -
    1st. was a Greco Flame top 1982 - fat neck- long tenon~
    then this beauty!!

I dig that. I have the copper single pickup version from the same time period. I am actually very glad that it is not black. I would rather folks didn't assume that I got it because I wanted to be like Jimmy Page.

I learned back in 1963, when I got a Black Dan O (different pickguard) that those are good Guitars. Good frets, good neck, good tone, bridge sucks, when changing strings, Mine was a 59. cost me $38.50 in Stockton, California...
I took it to London, when I went over in the US Air Force, 1/69.
    Enjoy it Don.

BTW... twas a Craigslist steal / find
    $400.00
has a history with TEX BEAUMONT - was his sons, the son digs Link Ray so this is his 3rd. (was) the son hurt his wrist and no longer plays much at all.
was selling his collection to fund moving his dad and himself out of the foreclosed home.. sad to see this happening at all .. dang economy!
the son "guy" was happy it was going to me - so I could perhaps recreate some Lipsticks just like the old ones really were - way back when..

    will see...
