I'm looking for suggestions for intro music - played through the PA, before we start our set. Epic, orchestral / operatic kind of stuff! Before we go into Mustang Sally.

My Buddy's band used to come out to Rush's "Tom Sawyer". That was a pretty epic intro song.

I remember seeing that flick as a kid in HBO. Always wanted to know what it was about. I'll have to revisit it.

Just YouTube epic orchestral music lol

I like it when people play other local bands albums at gigs through the PA.

Helps support local music a bit.
    Its never orchestral though lol

Best opening act ever was when Yes played, the opening "band" was a huge screen and they played 3 bugs bunny cartoons. It was perfect, got everybody laughing and fired up for a great show. Play some cartoons!

I'm in a cover band that plays 80's metal/butt rock. Sometimes we put Leon Haywood's "I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You" through the PA as a walk on because it's so opposite of what we do, it's also a cool ass song. Also at about 1:15 it starts a very natural count off to launch right into Judas Priest's "The Hellion". :p

Though not exactly what you are after... we used to play the theme songs to familiar TV shows. Gives some background music so the place isn't dead and gives the crowd something to talk/laugh about until the band is ready. Probably some sort of subconscious relate-able childhood nostalgia type stuff going on, but who doesn't like the theme song to Sanford and Son? :)
