I've wanted one of those since I first saw a picture of one. Too bad they're so dang expensive lol.

I've seen pictures before, but I'd never noticed the odd tuner arrangement.

    Certainly a distinctive profile.

There's actually been a guy on the local CL that has a cheaper one for sale off and on for the last year... something along the lines of $700.

Sure, it looks cool from across the room... but when you pick one up, it's obvious that it's just a weather balloon.

Thanks MC5, you are correct, it's a Roswell Rhodes. I was just being silly with the "identify" thread title as a lame play on UFO, it's my guitar.

It's funny you mention Chuck Levin's, I used to work there when these came out and I HAD to have it so I bought one.

As far as I know, the one that's hung on the wall at Chuck's for years isn't for sale. At least I hope it isn't, because that would mean something has happened to Paul Schein who's a TRUE BELIEVER that worships it and won't let it be sold...

Here's another pic of it in it's habitat of my wall of weirdness....:)

This is different than the wood bodied Roswells. These were a small run made in the mid-90's and were made out of a body of billet aluminum and a carbon fiber neck. The tuners are LSR rollers and the PU is an aged Tom Holmes humbucker.

But than again....If you can get me another one like mine for $700, I'll pay you a $100 finders fee!:D

Oh, I'm aware of the differences. That is an awesome room, by the way.

    Thanks man!

I wasn't trying to be insulting or anything by pointing out the differences, I'm surprised that there is one of the original aluminum ones on Craigslist for $700.

If that is true and you can find me an original aluminum version like mine for $700, I'm serious that I'll pay you a $100 finder's fee. I would like to have another one to actually play rather than hang on the wall!

No... the one on my local CL is definitely a wood one and the lower end of the wood version at that.
