    Hi,

Would like some help/advice with identifying the following guitar which was purchased by my brother at a recent auction.

    Colour Black/Cream.
Head marked Gibson Les Paul Special.
No numbers on the rear of the head.
Only reference number is a sticker on the back plate marked made in USA 57692.
There are no labels on the inside.

Any assistance would be much appreciated in identifying the guitar
Attach some photos of the guitar.

    Best Regards

    Hi,

thankfully he didn't. It was purchased from an auction house not on line so it will be heading back there soon with a very strong complaint.

    Regards

You only need to see the tuners to see its a cheap copy, those pressed tuner covers are a dead give away.

And the bolt-on neck? And the shape of the headstock?

Wow. That's one of the laziest fakes I've seen...
I'm glad your brother's protected. Hard to believe an auction house wouldn't verify something like this prior to selling it...

I saw that happen too at an auction house that I frequent. To their credit, the auction house took it back as soon as they found out it was not authentic.
