Its the newest one, and is widely considered the best, from what I've seen. And when I used my demo of it, I thought it compared favorably to any other strip I've used, including the Waves OmniChannel which has been my all-purpose one. I've tried it mainly on vocals and guitars but I've seen other people saying it works great on snares and hi-hats.

Like I tried really hard to recreate the same effect with EQs and OmniChannel and other plugs so I could avoid buying it - embarrassingly I spent a good 2 hrs on this a couple wks ago - but there's just something about the mids on this one that I can't get with other stuff. Which I've found isn't the case with some other hyped-up PA stuff.

I demo’d it before as well and loved how easy it is to get ny tracks sounding better. Also found the Focusrite Console plugin in the bundle to be another PA winner. It imparts a unique vibe that I couldn’t emulate with other plugins. Ad for the subscriptions, having ALL their amps, effects and other included plugs for a year and the $150 voucher was a no-brainer to me. I wanted the SSL channel strip after demoing it and saved $50 (at the time) and got a years worth of access to the other 45+ plugins

Yeah, I was referring specifically to the Bettermaker EQ... I've heard so many people raving about how great it is, and I tried it out for a couple weeks and did the thing I do where I try to match the sounds with other plugs to see 1) if I like a plugin more than what I already have, and 2) if I can recreate the exact same sounds with other plugs I already own. And I found that I could use the Waves Abbey Road Mastering Suite to match it close enough that I couldn't tell them apart in an A/B. The Bettermaker sounded great, but unless I feel like something is providing me with new options that are a clear improvement on what I have, I can't justify spending money. The 9000J is one of the few plugs where I could only get kinda close with other plugs, but never the same air/high mids, which was why I wanted it so bad.
