If I like these songwriters, who else would I like?

There's a certain kind of smart pop songwriting and performing that I like most. Here's a list of some favorites:

Aimee Mann
Michael Penn
Elvis Costello
Freedy Johnston
James McMurtry
Dawes
Nick Lowe
Shawn Colvin

If I've got these artists in heavy rotation, who else am I missing that I might like as much?

Crowded House/Neil Finn/Tim Finn
John Hiatt
Patty Griffin
Jonatha Brook
Fiona Apple

These guys are pretty underrated, as far as great songwriting.

This is as good as anything Costello's done:

There are a tremendous amount of GREAT songwriters to hear.

Haven't seen one I disagree with belonging on the list, and maybe more, one I havent heard of before!

We all have pretty great taste

Thanks for all the great ideas! There are several here that I appreciate just as much as ones listed in the OP but neglected to mention earlier. I'm glad to see several newer artists that I haven't explored and will be checking those out for sure.

Checking back in here to add Glen Phillips/Toad the Wet Sprocket. Glen's solo records are really good, especially Albulum and Winter Pays For Summer.
