Sorry, there's only ten choices, and a liger I believe requires human intervention, y/n?

I'd have to go with Lyon.

Sorry to say so, but this is a nonsensical question as phrased. The structure of a 500 lb animal is very different from the structure of a 10 lb animal. As animal species get bigger, their bones get disproportionally bigger than those of their smaller relatives because the bones have to be much stronger to bear the weight. A 500 lb cat with the proportional structure of a 10 lb cat would break its legs under its own weight. See allometric and isometric scaling.

Musculature must also change with size. If you up-sized a 10 lb cat that can jump to 7 or so times its height (say, to the top of the refrigerator) to 500 lbs, it would have to have disproportionally stronger muscles in proportion to give the same proportional performance with the greatly increased weight.

While I haven't thought this through, perhaps better comparisons would be in these directions:
    • the total number of kills per animal's adulthood lifetime (but this depends on the average lifespan of the predator)
    • the total weight of kills proportional to the animal's weight over the animal's adulthood lifetime (but this contains hidden biases as well)

I would vote for "Lion" if there was a properly spelled option for it.

I know I had a tabby, looked like a sweet little thing...

If it were 500 pounds, I'm pretty sure it would have taken over the world.

Everything I've read says the cleverest and better hunter would be the domestic house cat. It would also be the strongest (if physiology wasn't a problem).

The domestic cat is also a cold blooded killer, the only cat species that kills for fun, from what I've read.

Of course, there can only be one Top Cat. You can argue it's a Tiger, or a Liger or whatever, but it's one individual, not a species. Like this alpha male - only the top gangsta gets to attack the other cats on a whim.

Just the pure SHOCK factor would give them the jump on the other cats.

my impression is that unlike dogs, a cat is pretty much a cat no matter what the size or breed; if they were all the same size they'd likely behave kinda the same, minus certain specializations like swimming tigers, running cheetahs or tribal group-forming lions.

A 500 lb. DSH would be a killing machine.

Every cat started equal. The Lion evolved to be king.

I'd vote for him, but you disrespected his name.
