Getting past the practicalities of them monitoring you forever would you give up guitar for the money ? Think about it - it's actually pretty tough even if you ain't rich. I honestly think I'd say no

I wouldn’t think twice about saying no.
The only scenario I’d consider saying yes would be if my financial situation drastically changed and my son’s well being depended on the $500,000.

but I’d be more likely to just sell my house and move into a trailer.

What’s the point of life if you can’t do the things you enjoy?

    Hello piano.

i'd miss the guitar, but having another instrument would work for me. Now if it was playing music in general it would be a no.

Easy question - I would take the deal in a heartbeat, and just play all of my other non-guitar instruments and focus on vocal and directing gigs.

For 500k? Yes! I could easily go back to just playing bass.

My job is chainsaw above ground - dangerous, low pay, and as much as I love guitar, it exacerbates neck and back issues - I’ll take the cash toward physiotherapy and to help family members in need.

As long as I could continue using other instruments I MIGHT, but I've had so much fun learning guitar after starting on bass and am really enjoying getting better at it. I might be able to survive playing just bass, and maybe continuing learning mandolin and keys would be enough.

Absolutely effing not. I started playing guitar at 15 - I'm 46 and my mental *me* stopped at age 23. I've had untold days and moments of the best memories in my life due to starting guitar. I've performed all over the US and roughly 2,500 gigs and untold rehearsals making great music with friends. YET - practicing is my favorite part. Again, I'm 46 and I still practice about 2 hours a day during the week. More than that on weekends.

I don't give a crap about money compared to what I get out of guitar/music.

I play multiple instruments! For 500 K I would without a doubt never play guitar again. It would just give me an excuse to get better at other instruments. No more debt and a paid off home would also give me even more time for creating music with other instruments. Where do I sign up?

Absolutely, so many other instruments to learn - piano, percussion, cello, bass, and so on and so on....

I primarily sing but I don't think 500k is life changing enough for me. If I was fresh out of college with no savings maybe. But not at this stage of life.

    Absolutely.
Not even a second thought, I've got many things I love to do.
    One less wouldn't kill me.

I think that having $500k would only be really really fun if you could go guitar and amp shopping with it....hard to try to imagine giving up something I love in order to get money that would allow me to indulge in that thing I just gave up.

For that money, no. That's not nearly enough to compensate for the lack of musical fulfillment.

For a billion dollars, though, I'd cry in my money and learn piano. :D

Under normal circumstances? Of course not.

If I had a sick family member....I’d take them to their GP and the NHS would look after them (duh). So, yeah, still no.

Yes, but I would break the contract then settle for less than $500k.

I mean, if it was actually enforceable, no :)
