    ...what would it be?

For me the answer is a resounding Celestion Gold. Granted, I've never tried most of what's out there, but the Gold sound with every head I've thrown at it and for the most part I don't need to worry about blowing it,

Tough choice- either a 20 watt Greenback or an Alnico Blue. Also depends if I'm rockin' hard or playin' the blues.

G12H30...or in my case, a WGS Reaper 55Hz.

I haven't found anything that works better for me than the Celestion Blue. I would like to find a speaker I like as much that is less expensive, and some have come close, but the Blue is the one for me.

I like the greenback sound, so I bought a WGS Green Beret.
    I love it.

And I listened to the 15 speaker comparison posted the other day (in this section here at TGP, http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=645173) and sure enough, the greenback sounded the best to me, although there were some close seconds.

I'm a huge fan of the EVM-12L, but you have to sell a kidney to pay for one of the things these days. Plus, they're heavier than sin so unless you're Superman you'd better have a hand truck to move your combo/speaker cab around.

I still like my silly little Eminence GB12. Just a fine speaker. I have always liked the Celestion 80, Classic Lead, Boogie 90 & Egnater Elite 80 as well so maybe one of those two. If I only get one speaker it's the 80. I f I get two it's the Emi GB12.

Another vote for the Weber Cali. Makes old Fender amps sound huge.
