Well, I'd certainly take a good hard look around the attic...I mean, "What the f*** else can be up here?"

This thread might as well be, "If you found a cheque for $400,000 in your attic, would you cash it?"

That guitar would be sold so fast it'd make your head spin.

Sell the ever loving piss out of it and buy a house.

    *EDIT*
Incidentally, I did find about six grand in music gear my fiancee's dad left in her mom's garage before they were divorced. That was quite nice. Still wish I could have kept that Big Muff. :(

Play it, and pass it on to my future kids. Even if I wanted to sell it, my parents would take the money because I'm 15...

I think all the talk about the market getting better is wishful thinking. My sense is the high end guitar market is going to level off or drop even more in the future. A 59 LP is like the Straduvariua of guitars so will always bring big bucks, but I'd dump it now, spend $25k or so on gear toys, and deploy the rest on other aspects of life.

    1) Start internet rumors to build-up the mystique of the guitar.

    2) Contact several famous guitar players and arrange for photo-ops.

    3) Christie's vs Sotheby's bidding war.

    4)

I would probably try to find out its origin. Who left it there?
(no other family members play the guitar)
Could be stolen? Original owner may have made a police report.....
Post this find on TGP (without revealing serial no.) and see how many suckers try to claim as its owner.
Then sell it to the highest bidder.........and buy a RIC :banana
OK, OK, ......the full range of RICs

    Sell.

...but not before I made a series of condescending vids about TOAN in which I play simple licks very poorly.
