Go ahead and treat yourself....put it in. Its been a while, right?

They were a runaway monster at their peak. Reckless wild abandon. Ed and Sam and Mike and Alex. 80s outfits and nothing but the smiles of happier times.

I can't help grinning at this one.

Wow I haven't seen this concert in close to 22 years or so. I still vividly remember Best of Both Worlds when Eddie, Sammy and Michael are doing that little strut doing the chorus.

I wouldn't say "reckless wild abandon" as their shows were pretty much identical night after night, but still a great show to watch every once in a while. Better yet, rip the tunes to your ipod and listen whenever you want.

I have the DVD. Great sound (DTS 5.1).

A ton better than the clusterf**k release of Live: Right Here, Right Now, which didn't even have Dolby 5.1 on the DVD.

That's awesome. I haven't seen this in awhile.

He's channeling a bit of Holdsworth IMO like Drop Dead Legs, etc..

I don't care what anyone says, I think Ed looks like an idiot playing that Steinberger. Couldn't he have at least gotten the Strat shaped one?

I am actually "in" that video as one of the screaming 16 year old dorky kids in the second or third row. They filmed that in New Haven over two nights of sold out shows and I was at the second show. That was back when you could buy cheap nosebleed seats for $30 or so and then bum rush the floor and fight your way to the front. Good times. My friends are the ones who pointed me out after it came out on VHS because I am wearing - and I am embarrassed to say it - a striped blue and white Benetton Rugby shirt. I think I liked the 1984 tour better even though I never made it to the front on that one.

Someone in another thread described Live Without A Net as "Ed at the height of his powers" and it seems pretty accurate to me. Great playing and great tone, if a bit over-chorused.

What's even better is the MTV version of Live without a Net where there is all the commentary from the 'new' band between the songs. It's awesome! I wish they would have released that version on DVD!
