I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, and I'll probably be crucified for saying this but...

...please don't call her a 'little thing'. I have daughters and I find it condescending and disrespectful.

    Language matters.

    Must be a regional thing...

Great little singer; not sure about the offense taken by the phrase "little thing", as in "sweet little thing" which would only be used as a positive and kind description. I am convinced, however, that there are vast legions of people who make a hobby, if not an avocation, out of finding things by which to be offended.

    Peace.

This right here is virtually the mantra of the oppressor.

Calling out the offensive is neither a hobby nor an avocation.

It's simply the right thing to do.

I wouldn't expect you to understand that, though.

    I'm proud to say she's Norwegian. :)

"Old soul" in a 8-year old girl they say, I tend to agree.

In New York, saying to a group of folks "What are you people doing?" is perfectly reasonable, acceptable and understood as such. Saying the same thing in Montgomery Alabama will get you in trouble however, as my SO found out one day. And I assure you SHE meant zero disrespect to anyone when she asked that question.

So before you think someone is being offensive YOU might want to consider that it might be perfectly normal, acceptable and understood as not in the least offensive by the one saying it based on what is normal to them.

In fact, why not simply ask them what they meant by it in a nice way? As someone who has traveled extensively, I have learned to ask people this kind of thing all the time, and I simply qualify it as trying to learn a different dialect or custom. Nobody has yet to mind and nobody had to oppress anyone in the asking.

Oh, the young lady was awesome BTW. Thanks for sharing that.

    Wow, that's creepy!

Billie Holiday found alive, and living in an 8-year old girl.

So when did she find the time to practice 10,000 hours? She only 7 in the first clip of the second video... :)

I got some serious flack for claiming some are just born with a talent a few weeks ago, but man what can we say about this? :huh

The pitch, the timing and phrasing is just mind-blowing if you ask me.

    She's freaking 8 years old!

    This is absurd

From what I've seen, it's not about calling out the offensive but finding excuses to exclude and not tolerate

The intolerant sometimes are doing their perceived "right thing", but usually it's angry, self-centered, do gooders with no respect for any culture other than their own
