I have an assortment of good guitars. A good bit more than most guys. But I always seem to play/gig one particular Strat. It plays and sounds good... It's replaceable and nearly indestructible. Doesn't have a delicate neck joint...

And if I can't make decent music on that guitar, then I have no business with my other "case babies".

I can't seem to let go of the other, more valuable guitars.... yet. But who knows?

Anyway, except for "flipping guitars", (I only flip cheaper ones), I'm out of the guitar buying mode.

    You guys can buy em'.

Is by announcing this to strangers worldwide part of a 12-Step GAS Program I'm not familiar with?

I am done buying guitars as well - have 45+, but haven't bought a new one in 2 years.

I stopped buying guitars - then I bought amps for awhile - by the time i had a dozen amps, I had no space for anything big.

So I started buying new pedals - which you can buy a lot of, and not take up to much space in your house.

Lately, I have been trying to tone down the pedal buying - not much success, but it's a process :)

You first have to acknowledge that there is a higher fret.

"I'm getting very sleepy... sleepy... sleepy.... No more guitars for me.... me .... me ...."

I was actually very excited that a guy wanted to trade me his new John Deere riding mower for my Norlin era Les Paul. (Hadn't played it 5 times in 5 years.) He backed out of the deal, Damn It!

I've got a 58' Tele that I haven't played 5 times in 30 years. I play that one, stupid Strat every day.

Personally my consumption is waning. I haven't bought a new guitar for about a year. I have taken up trading which has worked out and otherwise been 'sitting tight' and quite happy with the gear I have. I have sold off a few bits that weren't being used and enjoyed the new closet space.

As for the future ...who knows...

A statement like that just has to violate some TGP policy somewhere. I'm reporting.

I'm thinking a red circle and bar over the OP's avatar, as a sort of warning mechanism.

It's missing substance, like, there's better money spent on my family, like doing vacations that they'll/we'll never forget, or here's a picture of my killer herd of 55 guitars, why need anymore, etc.
