It's the film Ladies & Gentlemen The Rolling Stone. The film was originally released in 1973 & has only been available as a bootleg up until now. It is pieced together from a couple different shows on the 72 tour. It will be released on home video for the 1st time in October.

I have the bootleg, the sound is good and so is the band. Looking forward to the production release. I'm spolied from watching too much Paladia in HD. Now all the bootlegs look like crap.

I may have to thrown that in the dvd player and watch it this afternoon. Love that film and am glad it's finally getting released officially. It will be interesting to see if the quality is an upgrade from the boots I have of it.

I won free tickets on the radio for the July 7 show in Knoxville, TN. They even came with a free ride in a magic bus from Chattanooga. Absolutely killer show. Stevie Wonder was a curious opening act, but great in his own right. The Stones had mirrors over the stage that pivoted, reflecting powerful lights from behind the stage and washing them out over the crowd. What a time to be alive. You bet I'll be in the theater Thursday.

Ray Parker, Jr, told a great story about opening for the Stones in '72 with Stevie Wonder: he said that all he knew of the Stones was their hit Satisfaction, and he assumed that they were opening for Stevie. He played Stevie's set in an arena (thinking the Stones had already been on), then went down to the dressing rooms to change, and suddenly felt the floor moving beneath him as the Stones started their set upstairs and thousands of people reacted to the energy...

I saw the Stones in NYC on the '72 tour (I also saw them in '65 and '69 and then later on the Licks Tour). I think I have every ' 72 show on boot including some rehearsals.

I caught the film on its initial release in NYC is I guess 1974. It is a couple of shows and some rehearsal footage if I recall. It was shown with a sound system that required something like 50 speakers.
