Can we vote for neither?

Get a MkIV before you spend your $$ on either of those.

I was going to suggest that you let us call someone to help get you out of there, but better judgment prevented me from doing so.

If you want a more "Mark" style distortion, go for the F50. If you want uber Recto thump, go with the Recto. The F50 is a nice amp.... tons of clean headroom too if you need it. Mark IV's also are real good, thats my one and only tube amp at the moment, but they are tweaky sensitive suckers. Also my Mark IV combo with EVM12L has gotta take the record for the heaviest small 1x12 combo on the planet.

Man I was a big Mesa dealer for awhile.
The F series are more processed in gain tone and typically fart out at louder volumes. The F series and DC series are great studio and at home low volume amps IMHO.

Any amp in the Recto linup is the way to go for live volumes.
I use a Solo 50 that I rebiased to EL34's and then plugged in 1 THD Yellow Jacket EL 84 and 1 GT EL34.

    Sounds awesome!
I mainly use it for the clean tone with pedals but the gain is much better this way then stock and still has that natural tube flavor. The Yellow Jacket takes a bit of volume away, but the sweetness of an EL84 is worth it.

By the way, that was a joke. Gorilla amps are pretty much the worst thing ever. I just thought it was amazing how many suggestions you were getting, and figured I'd make a really bad suggestion. Sorry I can't actually be more helpful.
