Good effort Paul. Tone was there and the notes seemed pretty accurate. The main thing off for me was the pocket. It was not sitting deep in there. Eddie was such a beast because he had impeccible time feel. Other than that, great job!

Although I was disturbed by the viking and the zombies..... ;)

I've only been learning it last 2 weeks so I suspect I could get it tighter but I'm also a little tired of the song and want to move on! His tone also has this snap and 3 dimensional quality that's hard to get. Cheers

I certainly cant play that :rotflmao So great job man! Agreed the "snap" of his tone is hard to capture, but this was very good. And close enough to make some EVH wannabe's jealous that's for sure.

Loved the masks too on the "shooby doo wah" parts :D

Hell yeah! I wish I could reproduce anything that authentically. EVH isn't my thing particularly (I'm more of a Hendrix/Jeff Beck/Zappa/Eddie Hazel kind of guy), but I sure do appreciate the level of skill that covering EVH even half well requires. You did better than half well by my estimation!

I think your feel and swing really fell into place during the solo. The intro, like you said, could be tightened up, but overall, great job!

My own playing is quite different to Ed's but learning his stuff always improves my own chops and how I approach the instrument. It kinda reminds me each time why I picked up the guitar in the first place. The good thing about EVH too is that its accessible to all levels. There's plenty of very easy basic riffs and plenty of challenging stuff I'll never be able to do.

At times I could close my eyes and hear EVH circa 1979. Very cool!
Wow that's TOO big a compliment! Ive been listening to a bunch of VH bootlegs lately and I feel like a VW beetle compared with Ed being a Ferrari!

Need to bring my plexi to rehearsal and crank it properly one day!

:JAMI dig the sound. That stuff can be tough to play. Have you thought about making your own playlist to showcase your work? This playlist is obviously a playlist of Who songs, but you could make your own and make it public. Might be a good way to get more feedback: http://toobbox.com/playlist/the-who

I have a few songs up on MP3Lizard. I'll checkout Toolbox though! Thanks!

Nice job!
What phaser are you using if you don't mind me asking?
Its the EVH phase90, script logo switched in. Does the job!
