It was real late, I'm at my girlfriends house, and her PC was giving MP3 conversion troubles. Anyhow, I did manage to squeez the amp tone a bit,
Man'O'Wars, and a DRRS. The effects are on the board.
The Blue mic was a BlueBird, in the center of the room.

    Holy harmonic scintillation Batman!

I'm a little ill at how good that sounds, Doug.

Can you elaborate for those who are not too familiar with recording techniques?
    DRRS?
    Blue Mic?
Effects on the board? (I assume this is post-production stuff)

And what's the new amp? Tell us! Tell us! Tell us! DETAILS!

Just so everyone knows, I'm not trying to spam here, just having fun.
I know this thread will probably get moved. Sorry guys, really.

I used a Blue mic model "BlueBird", in the center of the room.
    The amp is http://roccaforteamps.com/drrs-amp.html ,
and a "special" pedal that I built.
The cab is a 4 12" loaded with Man'O'wars, the volume was up
about 3/4. There's a bit of reverb and delay, but I really was only
searching for the best Jimmy Page tone I could get tonight,
    it certainly felt good.

Not looking for all your secrets...but what 'pedal'? Some sort of clean boost to pop the front of the amp? (Implied in the amp description?)

    And great playing!

Its germanium, but not quite a fuzz pedal, the amp was most of the gain you're hearing, it was up a bit.

I love playing Since I've Been Loving You...that is such a kick to do.

My career highlight was playing that tune live in a packed club (Alex's Cantina) standing room only in Santa Barbara on State Street (Across from Joe's Cafe) around about 1990....my zep loving friends had not heard us perform that before, and when we came out with it they went nuts..and it was contagious...so we had about 250 people screaming at us at the top of their lungs as we threw that gem out there flawlessy...I miss playing with a vocalist that can nail Plant and allow me to live out those zep playing fantasies.

Great tone Doug...well done as usual...the zep just seems to ooze from you. Congrats on the new amp. Best wishes for 06.

Thanks. I was having technical probs in the middle of the night.
I don't know why, but every attempt I make recording this tune
was a bitch. I listen too it after and hear all the licks I forgot
to play, but when I'm playing it somehow it just doesn't enter! LOL

I really need to do it again, and sequence it on our Triton Extreme.
The drums are badass on that keyboard. I'll post a clip later from me and my girlfriends demo, the recording is sick its so good.

doug....credit where credit is due bro :dude

you didnt lavishly do a note for note copped take on that, what we were hearing was doug playing, not doug trying his best to be jimmy page. your phrasing and tone had all the looseness and sag i expect to hear in any rendition of SIBLY . top marks doug, that was a superb take.
