Its like they were forced to write an ad for a guitar player, but they don't actually want one. It's an ad asking for no one.

That is the most probably the unfortunate truth. The vast vast vast majority of guitarists are exactly the type of guy they want to avoid. It would be easier for one of them to move over from whatever other instrument they were playing to guitar. That is the easiest way to satisfy that need

They really don’t post anything about their own background or experience, either. ie, “We are all graduates of Berklee College of Music”
    or
“We’ve been playing in my parents basement for 6 months now.”
Lot’s of ground in between there.

I think it’s a good ad. It’s a good way to weed out the dimwits who think they are musicians because they have some gear and know the minor pentatonic scale and a few chords.

These guys sound like a bunch of tools. With music, NEVER judge a book by it's cover. They may never even meet the perfect player for what they want musically, simply because they have requirements on the "look". Give me an effing break.

That part is easy to get. They don't want a guitar "wanker". It's the rest of it that makes them sound like wankers themselves.

I personally see red flags, the biggest being their focus on looks. I respond to music concerns and music alone. Yes I dress nicely, but being told how to look annoys me. No mom jeans? Not at rehearsal? Define mom jeans. No dont bother. Probably ageists. Screw em.

Sound like possible uptight pretentious wankers.

    No amps? No fun.

    I like their influences but...

Glad am not the only one. I probably dress better than them but being told how to look in such trippy way is a huge turnoff.

Well, if they are worried about Image, they need to find Johnny Bravo who fits in the suit:

Hahaha dead on! I am betting they suck a lot worse than they think. Other players say they suck but I know they are quite good without hearing them. Good musicians talk a certain way mostly IME.

They were intermittently spectacular, Reeves less intermittently so.

Did you ever see him with Black Box? (Think that was their name anyway.) They and he were very cool.

i’m deep into that whole improvisational common-sense thang myself, but i’ve been fine-tuning my improvisational extra-sensory common-sense.
but, i’m way too narcisseismic to bother thinking about hanging w/any kinda centralised guitarismachismachists.
