For fun, what do you think will be the Klons of tomorrow? What current or recently discontinued pedals will fetch ridiculous prices in the future?

Just remember in 10 years, we will revisit this thread to find out who was right, ok? ;)

None of them, the market is so saturated right now with high quality pedals. One of the reasons the Klon got so hyped was that when it came out there was relatively very few boutique options being made, once so many big named players started using a Klon everyone wanted one, once they stopped being made everyone wanted one even more. With all the great options out there right now I don’t see multiple big name guitarist from multiple genres all using the same pedal in a high profile way, then it being discontinued, with no good clones available, and everyone freaking out and over paying for originals. I just don’t see it happening again.

Oof, that’s a tough one. Any well-loved pedal would, in theory, appreciate in value if the company or builder stopped making them.

I think the Timmy prices would inflate, based on the rabid following it already has and the multi-thread cries of panic during the brief period Paul was waiting for parts to build another batch. (I’m already predicting a surge in prices for the current model when the new V3s are released, because “older is always better” and opportunity never sleeps. ;) )

Speaking of which, does anyone have any idea (@PaulC ?) of a rough idea when we will be seeing some new stock? I needs me a new Timmy! :)

As to the OP question: It is tough to say, some of these things are the result of unforeseen consequences. A builder dying, lawsuit killing a brand, etc etc. Seems sometimes lightning just strikes in a bottle. I will take a list though, as it could be a good investment!

Moog this and Moog that. The MF Delay that I bought for $99 is now going for $300 on Reverb. Those big ones are probably going to be insane.

I think that ANY Moogerfooger pedal will be at least 5x it's original price in 10 years.

Until they partner with Music Toyz to revive the pedal department of their brand..

None. We'll be shocked at how far the value of pedals drops.

I don't want to be a party pooper and say none.

The only pedal that had that mix of being in demand with a rare component would be the DMMTT1100. That original run with the good chips could end up becoming more expensive in the future.
