I was thinking about this last night . . . but in my 30 years of playing guitar (and the countless guitars I've bought/sold/played), I've never actually played . . .

- a PRS
- a Jaguar
- a Jazzmaster
- a Washburn
- a BC Rich
- a Jackson (but owned a Charvel)
- any jazz box
- and most acoustic brands

:crazy

I've just never got around to trying them . . . I need to expand my horizons.

Having played all of the above, my recommendation to you would be to find a prs first, then an American Jackson.

I was recently thinking about this as well. In almost 13 years of playing guitar, I've never played any of the following:

Fender Jazzmaster
Fender Jaguar
Gibson Explorer
Gibson Flying V
Gibson ES-335
Gibson ES-175
any PRS
any Gibson Historic
any Heritage
any Gretsch
any Rickenbacker

I'm quite familiar with the sounds of most of these instruments, but I've never played them myself. I guess I've been too satisfied with teles to bother.

A single trip to a Guitar Center could take many of these guitars off your list.

One tip... leave your wallet at home. You're probably going to like some of these!

My brother has a 36 fret Washburn (ec36?). Would love to find one but don't think there are many around, or folks don't sell them.

I have never played a PRS but would love to play one. The GC closest to me has them 80 feet in the air or behind glass.

I've been playing just over 30 years as well.

Here's my list of guitars/ brands that I've yet to play:

USA PRS
Carvin
Parker
Gretsch
Hamer
Suhr
Heritage
G&L
Godin

& some that I haven't played, but have no real desire to :dunno:

Most high-end Jazz boxes
Fender Jazzmaster, Jaguar, etc.
Rikenbacker

Bear in mind that 'a prs' is many different guitars. Playing one will not tell you what playing a different model will/could be.

53 yrs here..... no shredders yet :huh

From a practical point of view, if you've been playing for thirty years and have gotten by without playing any them, it's probably not a big deal that you haven't. And if you do make a point of it, it's only going to cost you money!

This is funny to think about. I've never played a Gibson les Paul-really. But have played jrs specials & owned a few old sg's. Only played a strat once in 1992. Have played all sort of oddballs-supro, national, hagstrom, teisco, harmony etc. I do love teles though!

JAZZMASTER? JAGUAR? PRS? why have you been sheltered from awesomeness for so long?
