I came across this old POS last year.

I'm told now that it may be one of the earliest Valco prototypes ever made. I have no idea yet if that's true, but I'm wondering if I ought to have this thing looked at by a specialist.

I don't recognize it, but there's no reason it couldn't be made to sound great. Let's see a gut shot!

Even if you have something there - that yellow chord, vinyl covering and shiny chrome handle do not scream "original" to me. It's obviously been modded...maybe not even the original cabinet. Your vintage value is going down fast.

The one guy who claimed to recognize it believes the cab is original but recovered. The cord was definitely an add.

I'm dubious of the story you were told. If anyone knows about Valcos, it's Terry Dobbs, aka Mr. Valco. Contact him through http://www.valcoamp.com/
