You've got to be careful throwing acronyms like that around in this thread (MFF), it could easily be mistaken for Myrold Fuzz Factory. Ha I kid, I like My Favorite Fuzz, but I also like the old Myrolds too.

Does a Vexter series Fuzz Factory count? Or do they lack mojo?

lol, it better, I got that Vertical coming... I'm just gonna believe... I mean,... really... I'm pretty sure the Stab and Comp and Gate will still get us there...

Apparently, there IS the contingent that thought the original FF was too ... trebly?... thin?... something... but the Fat FF seems to have fixed that with them...

I should just be glad I got away for under $150 Used for the Vertical.... tho, I've seen some Ebaaays hover @$100...

plus, this Vertical has quite the handsome paintjob, eh? psychedelic!... very much like one of the MXR...lol...

I already know what I'm gonna do first.
Everything at '0' (Stab @'10' ='0')... start raising VOL until it meets my Rig... turn down guitar Volume at least half... and play a chord...

If it works from there, we're good to go!

I'd simply bypass the GAIN and start messing with the COMP first, since that seems like a mystery to me, and the GATE and STAB and see how those three interact at the weakest setting. Then go Mid, and Hi, on the GAIN just so I'll then have three places on the dial to work from.

Is the self-osc kind of like how the CryBaby oscillates due to impedance issues? Is that what happens when you "detune" Fuzz components? Since other Fuzz with a Bias knob aren't known for wacky osc., there must be more going on with the FF's three 'special' knobs...

From the moment I remember...@2000... the names of those knobs have been calling me! 20 years... I had ten minutes with one at the store...

ok... checking the mailbox at midnight on a Sunday, lol...

Certainly a bunch of different responses. This is the main thing I like about it, over my Fuzz Probe.

The 9-way is a total gamechanger in my opinion.

Yep. It’s the best Fuzz Factory overall, imo.

Argh, don't make me think about doing it. I don't have space on my board for it, in any case.

On another note, the FF is turning out to be the first pedal that the other members of my household (my wife and 2 cats) have a pronounced negative reaction to. I can only imagine what the neighbors on the other side of the cardboard walls in this overpriced hovel of a building think...

I have a Zoom Ultra Fuzz, which I believe is a similar thing. A cool pedal to play around with in the privacy of your own home

I think Vexter series should count, they're still a damn good fuzz. I use a Vexter series Fat Fuzz Factory and love it, it hisses, squeels, howls and snarls like a demon.

The Vexter is great as well, I had the Fat version for awhile.

I've owned 4? Myrold FFs. The first was pretty early, bought used in the 90s and probably the chewiest. I sold it because I knew I could get another. Turned out they're not all the same, the second and third were harsher and thinner sounding. My current one is the second best one I've owned. Still, if a really early one came up on my radar I'd be tempted...

Had mine since 2006. Still one of my all time favourite pedals.

Lots of horn and synth sounds in here too.

Horns played by dying men; synths with fried circuits...

Can you give some "horn" or "reed" settings?

I'm actually so impressed by my first session with this beast I haven't been able to get back to it yet. I just sit here looking at at. I mean... it's just... awesome!

After getting Kraken birthing sounds, I had to put it down and rethink things...

I keep wondering how the audience is going to react to zipper-farts and monster-whining...

I DEFY YOU TO GET ME "RODAN"!!!!

Sure thing. I haven't really been keeping track of what I'm doing, but I'll note some settings going forward and share them.

By the way, do you have the fat version?

Not sure about Rodan, I'll have to check out some clips (you're talking about the Japanese creature feature from the 50s, right?)

Actually, it would be great if others who have more experience with the FF could also share some settings...
