    any suggestions?

I need 2. one for my reverb driver and one for my PI slot in my Fargen Blackbird. It's currently got EH 12AT7 tubes in both slots. They sound good. Just looking to see what else is out there.

    Thanks.

Why go with modern 12AT7s when you can get some great NOS CV4024 Mullards at a good price.

What Amp Nerd said. Or, you can get GEs or JAN Philips for the price of new production junky tubes.

There are plenty of the CV4024s around, and at good prices too. Grab 'em!

Any tube can be had with "matched triodes", the real question is, "which is the best tube for phase inverters?" which is a matter of opinion. The prevailing opinion in this thread is Mullard CV4024.

The Phillips JAN ones that I've tried have been disappointing. I like RCAs. If I had to buy some right now, I might try those Mullards.

That opinion extends beyond the thread, as it had been. That is to say, another :AOK for the Mullard CV4024, as a tube with exceptional value!

Oh, I thought I read "current production". If this is truw it's the JJ ECC81 AKA Ruby 12AT7CZ.
Alas the Ruby 12AT7C is out of production with unknown availability date. (It will probably be mid-March before I know when we can get them again. Maybe even mid-July as things apppear to be hinky with Ruby Chinese plant...)
