Hello everyone, i'm new to this site but i hope you maybe could help me with this problem that i have with my amp.

First of all it is the Epiphone Valve Standard.
The problem is that it makes some static noise constantly at a level that makes it rather irritating to play with. The level of the static noise increases as i increases the volume.

I don't know much about amps so my first thought was to look around the net. I ended up buying new preamp tubes and a contact cleaner. I replaced the tubes and cleaned anything that i thought could help a bit.
    It didn't help much..:waiting

Then i gave the amp a little knock and it stopped.. Then i played on my guitar and the noise came back - know i was confused.
The sweet knocking-spot was almost above the powertubes so i took them out and cleaned their sockets but that didn't help either.

Any suggestion? That could be very useful :)

    Stig

New power tubes would be next thing to try.
