FWIW... to counter, I think Boss doing 2in1 pedals as per EHX is an utterly crap idea.

I really hope they don't do this... except for modeller stuff like DD500 etc.

The beauty of Boss Pedals is their vast assortment and the ability to combine any of them however and in whatever order you please... the buffered circuits make it a doddle. They're like Jelly Beans (TM), or Baskin Robbins.

Agreed. I can see the point in something like a multi-modulation pedal (like the Keeley Super Mod Workstation), where you're at least likely to put those effects right after one another anyway. But pedals that have have overdrive into another effect (like modulation, delay or reverb) seem so limiting to me - Completely locking you into having those two effects right after eachother.

If you're making a super portable grab'n'go with just 2-3 pedals, I can see a use for them, but not really in a big pedalboard setup.

This. Well, THIS and an OD-500 would complete the circle.
So many smallbox pitch-shifters/octave-up-down on the market, with the only big-box offering is Eventide's PitchFactor, which has been out for what? 10yrs?

I'd settle for an updated ME-80B type. The Zoom B3n didn't do it for me, and Boss' GT-1B has gotten less than stellar reviews.

    1) Nux already did a small Space Echo, it was quite good, I thought.

    Then, there's this:

While I'm fixed for delays (I REALLY am; I even managed to resist buying the Volante)... I might have a problem resisting this one... I always said the RE-20 was awesome, but needed to be smaller and have controllable modulation....

I'm hoping for a pedal that makes me want to stop buying new pedals.

How long between announcement and when a Boss pedal usually hits the street?

The DC-2w and MT-2w last year were in stock within 2 weeks so they'll likely be out pretty quick.

I got in on the first batch of DC-2Ws after going through my Sweetwater rep. That was within 2-3wks of the announcement, I think. Getting to the point that I hope it's not TOO cool - trying to pay off credit cards.....

This has already been done in the form of the Nocturne BS301 Mystery Brain. 100% analog vintage tone, texture and dynamic replication of the 70's Japanese RE-301 Space echo PREAMP w a boost mode, AND a digi Tape echo sim using analog photocell modulation for chorus or vibrato in the slapback.

I have to admit, as stoked as I am about Thursday I find this teaser stuff annoying.
Rather they just came out tomorrow with the scoop.

Guess they have everything lined up and ship to the dealers right after the announcement to capitalize on the hype. In the past they would announce in June and ship in October.

Good recipe for maximum impulse buying ;p

I can't argue with that logic. Boss pedals are adorable. :)

I love the Space Echo...would love for a compact version! I've had this since the second it came out in '07 or '08?
