Surprised we haven't seen a leak yet. Resources should be in the hands of retailers at this point so I bet someone slips up and makes information public too soon.

Whatever they come out with, I hope they have a demo available next week at Sweetwater's Gearfest. Last year Boss had a decent display.

I'm really hoping for an NS-2w. An NS-2 without the tone suck and improved gating.

    Oh, you vintage-addled purists...

I'd be more interested in a waza Space Echo, frankly.

Why does it make a difference if the new Space Echo is Waza or not?

Exactly. Waza is about analog and reissues of older pedals. A Space Echo doesn't fall in the Waza category. If anything, it would be MDP like a RE-20X or a 500 series like RE-500. I'm curious about why people want it to be a compact Space Echo though. Making it a compact pedal means you lose functionality of it. And it that point, is it really a Space Echo? It would just be a multi-head tape echo. It can't be an improvement over the RE-20 if it loses functionality and features. The RE-20 is over 10 years old. It needs a full-featured update instead of a better sounding but stripped down pedal.

I suppose because it robs the waza line of any true meaning. When the waza line was released it was mods on existing compacts and reissues. The release of the TU-3w sort of muddied the waters. Perhaps some might consider it a mod of the TU-3 but to my eyes it’s more a deluxe TU-3. A waza RE-2w would not be a mod of an existing compact pedal or a reissue. If would simply be slapping waza on the Footswitch, the cynic in me thinking for no reason than to make it seem more premium and let them charge more. This imo would set a bad precedent, not least because the implication would be their existing non-waza compacts are stagnant as far as new releases are concerned and introduce a quality tier (real or perceived) in Boss compacts for the first time in 40 years.
