I got an email from Joe this morning saying my guitar is ready to go. I will be picking it up in Canada and bringing it back in a couple of days. Anyone have any advice for what to expect at the border?

BEAUTIFUL!! CONGRATS BOB. Just send it to me in TX...much safer than risking carrying it across the border.:omg:omg

Thanks, Geoff! If I get waylaid, I'll run a distraction and have it on the first bus to Austin!

Here's a GREAT video of Bill Frisell playing his Yanuziello:

I love Yanuziello's work. I owned one, and would very much like to own another some day. I'd say enjoy your new guitar, but I know how much you're going to dig it!

Obviously the best solution here is to have Joe send it to me, and then I'll hand-deliver it to Austin. I'm about due for a holiday, and you'd get it eventually...

More seriously, you're going to be a very happy man. Say hi to Joe from Alex in Vancouver (the guy with the wide-necked three-pickup guitar).

And welcome to the club!

By the way, that video of Bill is a very true depiction of the Yanuziello tone (although not all of us JY owners can play so beautifully).

Thanks, all. To say I am excited is an understatement. I literally lost my appetite today (don't worry, I found it by dinner...)

Snacker, I see you are in Ontario. If you live near Joe, you've got a chance to play it before I pick it up!

Beautiful! Cool that Joe sent you pictures too.... And I see that he has upgraded his cases as well... Enjoy your new Yanuziello. They are truly unique instruments in the best possible way.

Bob,
Your growing list of awesome guitars is tickin' me off! I want your job!

I played one of these before, and they are sweet little axes. Very nice -- congrats!!

Bob, you're driving? Who needs to know the guitar in the back of your car is one you just bought, as opposed to one you've had for a year?

Anyway, good luck. It looks fab!

I went to Joe's shop today and picked up my new guitar. What a great guy Joe is - just a joy to meet. The guitar is so much more than I'd even hoped for. Form, fit, feel, sound - everything just perfect. Sound has some Gretsch in it, and a touch of Firebird, but with a rich acoustic quality at the same time. Crisp and incredibly responsive. More shortly...

Oh yeah! There is no duty bringing it through the border because it was made in Canada! Seamless reentry!

Bob
