Incorporating M9 into current rig

Has anybody had any issues with incorporating an M9 in there rig? Right now, all my stuff is is primarily made up of analog stompboxes, except for delay. I run into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. What I'm worried about is like if I have a drive sound from one of my pedals, and then I want to do a say... Tremelo from the M9, will the digital sound like it's conflicting? Not the best way to word the question, I'm hoping somebody knows what I mean! :messedup

I've had no problem running an M9 after drive pedals. There's no added digital-ness to the signal.

^-- true story. it's super user friendly and plays well with others. I use it for all mod and verbs... the delays are great as well of course!

Use it ALL the time at the end of my chain. With a buffer running in front it helps with tone loss. If you're able to run the M9 in the effects loop of an amp it sounds even better. You'll just have more cabling to deal with.

Here is(was) my setup. I ran it in the front of one of my tube amps. Never an issue, and it sounded great. I played many, many shows with this rig. I have recently gone Fractal, so many of the pedals are for sale.

I use an M13 hit with a comp, wah & 3 analog dirt pedals into a clean tube amp and everything seems to be playing nice.

The only tiny almost non issue I've discovered is that when all foot switchable effects in a scene are off, the noise gate (the one assignable by scene) also turns off.

I control the delay mix of the analog w mod delay with an expression pedal.
So...I just keep that on and defeat it by bringing the mix down to zero with the expression pedal & noise gate problem solved.

No. in terms of digital + analog you won't have any "conflicts" although you may feel a dedicated analog box may sound better than its digital counterpart.

The real problem of incorporating the M9 is FX placement. For instance I have my M9 last in the chain because thats where delay FX belong and I use delay quite a bit more than any other effect on the M9.

However when using analog OD and fuzz this placement renders some modulation FX useless. Phaser, flanger, rotary and chorus are way too intense following distortion and wah is unpleasant after distortion as well.

If mod > distortion is integral to a certain song i will create a patch on the M9 using one of the built in OD/dist/fuzz models some of which are more than adequate to get the job done.

My current board is mini-bone fuzz> timmy> Rat> turbo tuner> M9 + EXP pedal. I find the M9 is the heart of my rig and overall it does an excellent job . You just need to learn the unit and take advantage of its strengths and find workarounds for its weaknesses. IMO its by far the most friendly MFX for live use available.
