I was listening to the song "Steller" today and the heavier guitar sound really caught my ear. To my untrained and inexperienced ear it sounds like a fuzz, muff type maybe?
The part I'm talking about comes in at about :32.
What do you guys think?

From what I know he doesn't have a fuzz on his pedalboard. Not sure if he used one for the studio version but I know he doesn't use one live.

I think his stuff from that period like Pardon me, Stellar have a punchless digital modeler quality about them. I like the tune btw. Just not the dirt guitar production.

Mesas at that time, but he usually ran a dirt pedal in front of it. Sometimes a Digitech Tone Driver.

I've never heard of Mike using fuzzes.

There's an octave pedal in the chorus from :42-:45. The distorted tone is from the Mesa Tremoverbs that Mike was using at the time.
