Installing an e-clip into an ABR-1 without launching it into the stratosphere

About a year ago I bought a nice Faber ABR-1 bridge for my 1980 Tokai Reborn Old LP-type guitar to replace the slightly bowed original.

I needed to turn one of the saddles around to intonate the guitar, but in the process lost the tiny retaining clip. Oh well, string pressure keeps the saddle in place.

I'm about to buy some titanium saddles to experiment, but I don't want to lose any e-clips this time around. They seem so fiddly to install.

Can anyone offer me advice on how to safely, simply install such a clip?

Just use needle nose pliers and push it in. I hate losing those. I start borrowing them from other spare bridges then my parts become like a guitar junkyard
