Penalize self for unnecessary roughness. Carry on.

A Web site entitled "spinditty" hardly evokes a sense of legitimacy. Pass.

Sounds like he's trying to justify his Epiphone

Yes. Better materials, better design and better craftsmanship equals better instrument.

I've bought and owned a lot of guitars. There is certainly a point of diminishing returns once you get over $3000 and there are many fine instruments that cost far less than that.

I work at a place where we also have people who know nothing write clickbait articles just to produce content. I guess everybody needs a job, even gophers.

I think it depends on the player. A $900 guitar will get you 85% - 90% close to a $3000+ guitar. And in most people's cases it won't be worth it. But for some players, the difference (which might be seemingly minute) will be huge.

And as always, you could own a cheap guitar and make it sound great (or not), just as you could with an expensive guitar.

I find it amusing that the "it has to be good enough to inspire my discerning tastes" brag is more common than the "I can make anything sound awesome" brag.

What anything is worth to you is up to you. Any attempt to convince others they are wrong and you are right is pointless.

I like electric guitars, and I like music.

My guitar purchases are decided by three factors; ears, hands, and wallet, all need to approve.

    This was an interesting choice:

    E) My guitars are worth more than my car and I've lost all sense of fiscal responsibility when it comes to gear. :D

Hey, EVH mostly played cheap guitars.

As most mentioned, it has to feel right.

I have some average guitars and some real nice ones I lucked into that are worth more than I would pay for them.

Played a new MIM Strat at GC recently and the only other guitar there that touched it (strat-wise) was a Suhr that was 5x its cost. Inexpensive guitars have come a long way.

I'm in no way trying to justify cheap gear. I've owned tons of high end guitars.

I'd add eyes. But that's just me. I'm shallow that way.

I don’t have a vanity to feed that way.
I own 9 guitars, none of them cost over $700. I’m perfectly happy.

Not sure why I should consider this guy or his article to be interesting. Is he known for expertise in anything in the real world that matters? Is he known for expertise regarding guitars?

My expensive guitars are worth it. To me they are, anyway. And it was, after all, my money. So yeah. End of story.

Obviously you didn't read his, "36 Best Guitar Brands" article to understand his bona fides.
