I just came upon this on YouTube and it’s first time I’ve seen Baker Street performed live. Gerry sounds fine, the sax player is...ok I guess. Then right at the 5:00 mark Mr. Guitar Soloist unleashes this...

Him walking over to Gerry to perform it right in front of him and Gerry just nodding politely makes it little uncomfortable.

    I've played worse :anon :hide

... but yeah, I think I've heard better performances. This thread has potential!

You do understand that this might get flagged as musician bashing?

It sounds just like the record, except for the terrible live tone.

I will see this clip and raise you:

    Californication.

    /thread.

That guitar solo did not sound just like the record. I bet he wished he could have that one back.

    At 3:38...

Always wondered how that solo made it on the album.

... and it was out of tune, and [missing to avoid another telling off]. Apart from that, it was perfect.

I like the girl swaying to the music and then hits the imaginary tennis ball!!!
Funny thing about this song: back in late junior high I used to help our neighbor lady deliver the early Sunday morning paper to people who couldn’t be delivered by foot, like 3am I had to get up. Anyway she always had the radio on and this song WAS always playing that early on a Sunday morning, that and “ the year of the cat”... never failed!
