I am looking into finally getting a PC recording interface and am considering the following three: MBox 2; MBox mini; Lexicon Omega

The MBoxes use ProTools, the Omega uses Cubase.

    Any comments or recommendations?

My only other issue is that I plan to put this on my home laptop (a Gateway that is about 1 year old). One of my concerns is that I am going to have some issues with any of these packages. Like most PCs after a year of use, I am starting to have issues with the PC and it's performance. I have a little concern that I am setting myself up for some frustration. I've heard some folks say that if I really want to do the PC recording thing, I need to get a new, high-end, more powerful PC (preferably a Mac). If I have to go that route, all bets are off!

I use the mbox1 on an HP that is from 2004 and it works...most of the time!
