Is anyone running iOS 8 on an iPad 2? If so, how's it working out? Do things look good? I heard that can be an issue.

I currently have 6.1.3 on my iPad 2 and I'm increasingly running into apps that won't open unless they are updated, and of course the new app versions won't run on anything less than iOS 7. I wasn't really paying attention to iOS updates, so I never updated to 7, and Apple being Apple, there appears to be no way for me to update to iOS 7 at this point. I've heard that the iPad 2 works better running 7 than 8.

Yes that is my IOS on my iPad 2. Installation locked the ipad. I did it from ITunes. Do a full backup before installation. Once I got it updated, it ran fine, but I thought it did my iPad in at first. I've read other problems on Apple forums.

    It's running great now though.

I'm running the latest iOS on my iPad 2. Doesn't run quiet as smoothly as when it was new, but apps are larger and more complicated now, so it's to be expected. I think I can get at least another year out of this iPad.

I wouldn't do it again if I had the choice. 8 feels slow and clunky now.

Typing on one right now. Very sorry I installed OS8. Keeps popping up windows about iCloud that I can't disable. Bogs down theads on here. Not ready for prime time. Who do they think they are? Microsoft?

Yes I have upgraded to the latest iOS on my iPad2.

No problems I've noticed yet. Everything seems to run smoothly as before.

Do a google on how to fix a slow iOS 8 on iPad 2. Looks like there are a couple good fixes, and if it doesn't help, installing IOS 7.

I updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2.

It work fine, although it is a bit slower, and I notice that certain apps tend to 'stutter' a bit.

It is par for the course though. Apps are being designed for newer devices for faster processors.

When you consider that the current generation iPhone6 is roughly 60x faster than the original iPhone from just a few years ago, you get the sense of how quickly processor speeds are improving.

No problems here, although I don't use the iPad for much more than surfing the web and to mange Setlist Maker for my use with the band. I use my pc for pc type work, and I don't use iCloud.

I have resisted upgrading to IOS 8...my wife has complained about the performance of her iPad after converting.

Mine is newer than hers, though, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. How can I tell if I have an iPad 2?
