OK, I really don't know a lot about iPhones or technology, but here is what I want to do.

My son has an iPhone 5S. He listens to songs off of our iTunes account. Not a problem in the house, but once he leaves, the phone is using data because it accessing iTunes off of the internet. Since he is away from the connection in our house, it is using a boat load of data.

Can the 5S store songs on it's memory and not have to access the internet to run iTunes or is that the way it's set up?

    Thanks,

    Tim

Actually, as soon as you play them in the Music app, they're downloaded onto the phone's internal memory. iTunes Match doesn't really stream in the way Spotify or Pandora does (unless he's using the iTunes Radio feature).

And you can download songs without playing them, too. Just tell him to limit himself to albums he's already downloaded.

OK, thanks. That's what I'm not doing is synching the phone to iTunes.
