Hi. I know it's (as nearly everything here) matter of personal taste, but do you think 2x 10" is better 1x 12"? Can 2x 10" have the same amount of bass as 1x 12"? 2x 10" will have bigger cone area than 1x 12" and the cones will be quicker so it seem to me two smaller speakers are better than one bigger. What do you think? Thanks

The Z combo amps sure have some bass in their 2 X 10" versions...sound really big. Are they better than a 1 X 12" version...I can't answer that. I guess "different" is what comes to mind.

My Goodsell S17 (2X10) sounds better than my 1X12 Combos, and my 4X10 HRD.

"Better" is pretty subjective, but I've got a Port City 2X10 and there are NO worries about bass. Love my Two-Rock 1X12, but the Port City has seen the most action at the house since I got it last month. Sounds HUGE!

FYI - My main gig cab is a Dr Z 4X10 currently.

I would love to know what an ovesized Port City 2 X 10" would sound like. I know I'm digging my Marshall 1965B, 4 X 10" cab a lot. I did make a new baffle for it with a 9" X 15" rear port with rounded ends. I think it sounds a lot better with that smallish port than closed. I never thought I would like 10"s but I'm sold now.

There is no substitute for trying them yourself.
2-10's over 1-10 for sure, but when it comes up against 1-12's you are comparing more than cone area.

"Better" is subjective for sure, but to me my G17/2X10's has more bottom end and more "bell like" top end than my LSC 1X12, my HRD 4X10, and even my stock 73SFTR.

I am not a bass player, but I know many bass cabinets have multiple 10" speakers...I think that's all the info needed.

    I own 2 Dr Z Maz Jr's,
    one' s a 2x10 (Z speakers) and one's a 1x12 (Celestion Blue)
To my ears the Celestion 1x12 get's the prize hands down.
